Seville - Royal Palaces, Game of Thrones, and Cathedrals and...

We departed Granada at 7:30 am—my friends back home were still awake or just going to sleep— and headed westward towards the city of Seville. Today was PACKED with amazing sites and discoveries.

The first visit was the Alcázar de Seville, a gorgeous palace developed by Muslim kings in the 14th century. The Morrish architecture is just so detailed...

This royal palace was also the setting for scenes from the 5th season of Game of Thrones!!! Here is my photo....

.... and the photo from Game of Thrones!

The palace also holds the Courtyard of the Maidens, another sight spotted from the GoT.

We then went straight to the Cathedral of Seville, which is the largest cathedral in the world!! This is also the site where Christopher Columbus and his son were buried.

Lovely view from a window of the cathedral

We then visited and relaxed in the Plaza de España, a gorgeous semi-circular complex built in 1928. Along the semi-circular walls were Provincial Alcoves representing the different provinces of Spain.

I happened to coincidentally find myself in front of the Granada one...

This place was also a setting for scenes from Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones.

Overall I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Seville and its wonderful sights, but I'm still very happy with my choice of studying in Granada. Seville was FILLED with tourists from all over the world that it seemed hard to try to integrate myself into the local life.
