Because I have been to too many India Nights at OU, I found another event hosted by the India Student Organization— Diwali Night! This is a cultural event that means the “Festival of Lights.” My friends and I got our tickets and sat down to enjoy a wonderful night of performances— Ok, it was very similar to India Night.

There was dancing and music performed by the organization’s students (I recognized many of them!) What I really admired was the dancing performances, because they looked like quite the workout! I remember going to a dancing/meditation event last semester with my roommate and we learned some of the moves and it was so exhausting! Also, the cultural attire that the women wore was absolutely stunning— bright, lively colors with elegant patterns.

The event ended with a DELICIOUS catering of Indian food— one of my favorites. I congratulated the friends I recognized who performed and met new people. I am so happy I got to attend one of my last Indian events at OU this semester!
