For those who know me: I absolutely LOVE dancing, especially the art of Latin American dance! Evidently, one of my favorite events at OU is the annual Salsa Ball.

 

I take Salsa and Bachata classes up at a studio in Oklahoma City, so dance socials are one of my favorite places to go during the weekends—I get to practice my moves and meet new people.

 

The Salsa Ball was held in the Molly Shi Boren room on the third floor of the Union— this room always is the best for dances. There was a free class for absolute beginners for the basics of Salsa and Bachata, followed by the lights going down and the DJ hitting the mix. I found some people I know from my dance classes and other socials I attend, so I loved to dance with them! After a while, we got a performance from the Alma Oklahoma Salsa and Bachata teams (the teams that attend my studio in OKC). I absolutely love watching them perform, because I want to dance just like them.
