I attended the annual Salsa Ball at OU (hosted by the Latin Dance Club) with my friends! I LOVE going to dance socials around the metro. Salsa happens to be one of my favorite styles of dance for its sexy flare and attitude.

It was a really nice event— it started with a beginner's lesson, showing us basic steps to Salsa as well as Bachata— which I was already really comfortable with! I then danced the night away! For some of my friends, it was their first time going to any dance social but they had a blast! I also did not mind the giant platter of chicken fingers.....

What makes this dance social different from other Latin dance socials I have been to was that this had a majority student turnout, which made me happy! This attracted the student community, where many students had various skills in Latin dance—but also genuinely loved to dance. In other dance socials, it attracts a large crowd of various ages and professions from the Hispanic community— and many of them are amazing dancers. The OU Latin Ball is a lot more chill and relaxed... not to mention free. I will be going again next year!
